I am looking for someone who has experience with Rufous hummingbird behavior. I live in Western Washington State and have had rufous hummingbirds since about the second week in March. My concern and question is the very irratic feeding patterns and apparent loss of birds. I would really like to communicate with someone who is experienced with this specie of humming bird.

I too have noticed a change. In fact we have NO Roufus this year yet. Last year we had hundreds.
The woman who will know the answer I hope is due back in the area soon. She runs the New Mexico Hummingbird Society in the Gila and I will have her contact this site. Bonnie Kydd

I use a Sony DSLR100 with a 100-300 lens.
